iPhone 17 Pro Rumored to Feature TSMC 2nm Chipset: What You Need to Know

Gadget – The iPhone 17 Pro will most likely be the first iPhone to use a chipset made by TSMC with a 2nm fabrication process.

This is in line with rumors circulating since TSMC announced the development of the 2nm process in 2022.

Although there has been no official confirmation, this rumor is getting stronger with TSMC’s plans to start small-scale production of 2nm chips at the end of this year.

Mass production is expected to begin in early 2025, just before the launch of the iPhone 17 Pro in the fall of next year.

Quoted from AppleInsider, previously, Apple was reported to have secured the entire initial production capacity of TSMC’s 2nm chips.

This means that, apart from the iPhone 17 Pro, the 2nm chip will likely also be used in the future line of Mac computers with Apple Silicon.

According to the report, further development will be towards an improved 2nm process by the end of 2026, followed by a jump to the 1.4nm process.
