iPhone 16: Image shows new colors and camera bump

We are now only about a month and a half away from the official announcement of the new iPhone 16 range. While Apple is doing its best to contain the information around its new iPhones, a magnificent leak took place last night by a well-known leaker. We find in this leak an image that allows us to discover the new colors of the iPhone 16 as well as the new camera bump on the back.

A first serious look at the iPhone 16

The latest information about the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus reveals changes in terms of design and features. What we already know is that the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will be equipped with the new A18 chip, which promises greater performance and improved energy efficiency. These models will also have an action button located on the right side of the device, a new mode of interaction only present on the iPhone Pro until now.

One of the most notable changes is the iPhone 16’s camera layout. Unlike the diagonal layout of previous models, the iPhone 16 will adopt a vertical configuration for its sensors. This change is not only aesthetic, it also allows for the recording of spatial videos. This “premium” feature will allow for immersive videos, ideal for viewing on the Apple Vision Pro.

Apple had already started adjusting the lens layout on the iPhone 15 Pro by swapping the positions of the telephoto and ultra-wide lenses to make it easier to capture space videos. The iPhone 16 dummy units circulating online since last night confirm this trend with a thinner camera bump and vertical alignment.

The new colors of the iPhone 16

Beyond the camera changes, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will also get new colors. The images reveal five color options: white, black, light blue, green, and pink. Apple will ditch the yellow color found in the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models.

The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are shaping up to be exciting updates with their A18 chip, new action button, and vertical camera layout. The ability to record spatial videos will be a welcome addition to the lineup, while new color options will allow customers to further customize their device upon purchase. For now, these are just rumors, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation at the Apple Event this fall.
