Apple’s much-hyped iPhone 15 is rumored to feature a USB-C port. The era of Lightning ports for Apple’s iPhones will end with the new variant in 2023. The company reportedly tried to integrate the new technology long before the iPhone 14 lineup. One of the rumors suggested that there was a variant with a Lightning port, but it was not put into production.
iPhone 15 with a USB-C port will remove the Lightning port data transfer speed limitation. Since January 2022, the company has been testing various features in this regard. Several tipsters on Twitter have also reported that the next iPhone will have a USB-C port.

We’re missing something: Apple isn’t silly to introduce this in non-pro versions. However, the data transfer speed may be lacking if Apple decides to add USB-C to these versions. I can assume that Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max can benefit from USB-C functionality with high-speed capability.
The tipster in a Twitter thread indicates that standard or non-professional versions may come with USB 3.0. It should be noted that USB 3.0 offers a slightly slower data transfer rate. Likewise, the Pro and Pro Max versions will support USB 3.2 OR Thunderbolt level speeds. Considering this, the data transfer speed can range from 2500MB/s to 5000MB/s.
The more you spend, the better the speed. The more expensive versions with Thunderbolt speeds will transfer data in a very short time. These are the technical reasons why Apple made this huge change. Another reason for the Apple iPhone 15 USB-C port is to comply with new European legislation. The law requires smartphone makers to develop phones with USB-C charging ports by 2024.
