iPhone 15 Series: Upgraded Fast Charging with USB-C Port – Latest News and Rumors

Jakarta

iPhone 15 series is predicted to come with a USB-C port that replaces the Lightning port. Not only has the charging port been upgraded, reportedly the iPhone 15 series will also be equipped with faster fast charging technology.

This news comes from 9to5Mac who cited their sources from the industry. They say some of the new iPhone 15 models will be equipped with 35W fast charging which can recharge the battery more quickly.

As is known, currently the iPhone 14 has a 20W fast charging capability, while the iPhone 14 Pro is slightly higher, namely 27W. With this speed, fully charging the iPhone 14 Pro Max takes about two hours.

Currently, Apple does not include a charger head in the iPhone packaging box. But they recommend that users use a 20W charger and above to experience the benefits of fast charging.

Last year Apple introduced a 35W Dual USB-C charger that can charge all of today’s iPhones at full speed. If these rumors are true, then iPhone 15 series can take advantage of this new charger.

Even though it’s faster than the previous generation of iPhones, 35W fast charging is still behind compared to most Android phones. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, which supports 45W fast charging, can fully recharge the battery in less than an hour.

However, it is not yet known whether this 35W fast charging will be available on all iPhone 15 variants, or will it be an exclusive feature for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max only.

The news about 35W fast charging is in line with the predictions of analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who said iPhone 15 series will support faster fast charging thanks to the transition from the Lightning port to USB-C.

However, this faster fast charging will reportedly be limited to USB-C cables that have received certification from Apple. So even though they already have a compatible adapter, users still cannot enjoy optimal fast charging without the appropriate cable.
