iPhone 15 Pro Overheating Issue: iOS 17.0.3 Update’s Impact Revealed Through Temperature Test

Apple has launched the iPhone 15 series product line up, and one of the models is the iPhone 15 Pro with titanium material. It was recently discovered that several users complained that their iPhone 15 Pro was overheating for no apparent reason.

Apple immediately responded to this problem by releasing the iOS 17.0.3 update which is expected to solve the overheating problem. ZDNet conducted an experiment to test whether the update presented by Apple has really resolved this problem.

Temperature Test Results After iOS 17.0.3 Update

Thermal test was carried out to measure the temperature of the iPhone 15 Pro before and after the iOS 17.0.3 update.

Before the update, the temperature of the iPhone 15 Pro reached 107.1 degrees Fahrenheit or around 41 degrees Celsius. This figure itself is considered an unnatural temperature for a smartphone device.

Before updating iOS 17.0.3

After the iOS 17.0.3 update, the iPhone 15 Pro temperature did not exceed 93.8 degrees Fahrenheit, or about 34 degrees Celsius. This shows that the update was quite successful in reducing overheating issues.

After updating iOS 17.0.3

However, there are also reports stating that the iOS version 17.0.3 update still does not solve the overheating problem. A YouTuber also tested the temperature difference between before and after the update, and reportedly there was no significant change in temperature.

Hopefully in the next update, Apple can provide consistent improvements for all devices. Apple is also testing the iOS 17.1 update which is expected to improve the performance of the iPhone 15 Pro and address other issues related to overheating.
