Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The iPhone 15 series will launch on September 12, 2023. According to seasoned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Pro Max model will sell well in the market even though it is the most expensive.
Kuo predicts that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will make up 35-40% of the total initial shipments of the entire iPhone 15 series.
This means that the most expensive model will get the largest portion among the four other models in the product range which will be released later in September. The plan is for Pro Max shipments to exceed last year’s iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments by 10-20%.
The main attraction of users to the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the periscope lens camera. This advanced feature will provide a 5x-6x zoom, a significant improvement over the 3x optical zoom found in the current model.

The introduction of periscope lenses will be a gradual process. Apple, along with its exclusive periscope lens supplier, Largan, plan to start producing 15-20 million iPhones equipped with this feature this year. This production amount is expected to grow 70-80% to around 30 million units next year.
iPhone 15 Crazy Price Increase
Periscope lenses are more expensive to manufacture than traditional high-end lenses. Largan, Apple’s partner for these components, will benefit significantly from this partnership.
New lenses and other enhancements could lead to a potential price increase of at least US$100 (approximately $100) for the Pro model compared to the current lineup.
Leakster Majin Bu suggests that the iPhone 15 series may include a green color option. This color mockup has been created, resembling the green color seen on the iPhone 12 series.
The iPhone 15 lineup will debut in the next few weeks, September 12, 2023 to be precise. Pre-orders will likely start a few days later, followed by the official launch on Friday, September 22.
