The iPhone 15 Pro is thinner, lighter and lightning fast, while what everyone is talking about is that the EU has forced Apple’s hand.
For the biggest news is that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are, as expected, the first Apple phones with a USB-C port, and now follow the European charging standard.
It is startling because someone other than Apple itself sets guidelines for the company’s development process, while at the same time it is positive for several reasons that PC, Mac and phone can now be charged with the same plug.
Reduced weight
This year’s top models also offer more, bigger news. The iPhone 15 Pro comes with a titanium frame, which makes the phone noticeably lighter and thinner and at the same time highlights the screen.
Also completely new is the Action Button, which replaces the silent button on the left, and has now become a multi-function button that can be adapted to what you use most.
What has really set the iPhone Pro and Pro Max apart from the rest in recent years is performance. Also this year, the Pro and Max get a significantly higher processor speed.
This year’s model introduces the A17 Pro chip – which is the industry’s first 3nm chip and offers 10 percent faster performance than the regular iPhone 15. Faster Neural Engine and a graphics processor practically make it a small gaming machine.
Seen from the eyes of Norwegian investors, the iPhone models for the first time support Thread – a protocol that will simplify how smart home products talk to each other – and potentially have a positive effect on Nordic Semiconductor’s semiconductor sales.
The models’ connection technology in general has been upgraded, with Wi-Fi 6E support and a new UWB chip for more accurate localization in the Find My app.

For many, it is still the camera that is the best selling point, and an area where Apple has been the best or among the best in the industry.
The new main camera in the Pro model can switch between 24mm, 28mm and 35mm focal lengths, has an updated portrait function that automatically captures depth information and allows you to change portraits afterwards.
If you want all functions, you must also this time choose the giant phone Pro Max, which comes with a new 5x optical zoom with a focal length of 120mm. The test images impress, but the size is not for everyone.
Pro or not?
The new and faster processor and upgraded camera will have the most say in the hands of the heaviest users, by providing better gaming experiences and faster video editing.
When the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro were released, there really weren’t any good reasons to choose the standard model, and the iPhone 15 doesn’t seem to impress many this year either.
The Max model is too big for most people, which means that once again the Pro is still the best – and perhaps the only – right choice.
