iPhone 15 predicts “similar appearance to Android” by a prominent leaker | Forbes JAPAN Official Site (Forbes Japan)

The iPhone 15, which Apple is releasing this year, is expected to include some eye-popping design changes. Well-known leaker ShrimpApplePro says the change will make the iPhone look more like an Android device than ever before.

ShrimpApplePro said in a tweet on January 22nd that all iPhone 15 series devices will have a Dynamic Island display, giving the screen a rounded shape.

The edges are said to have a similar effect to the Apple Watch display, where the edges of the screen seem to spill out to the sides, a design common to Android devices in recent years.

Some iPhone fans may worry that their device looks like an Android device, but ShrimpApplePro claims that Apple has made the Pro Max model of the iPhone 15 a very beautiful design, and the bezel of the Pro model has been changed. It says it will be slimmed down.

That said, if the leak is correct, I suspect it will come as a shock and even a backlash to hardcore Apple fans.

ShrimpApplePro also predicted that the iPhone 15 display will be the same size as the iPhone 14 series (6.1 inches and 6.7 inches), and the glass material will be the same Ceramic Shield as before. Plus, the standard model’s front-facing camera hole is the same size as before, which makes sense.

ShrimpApplePro, despite its odd name, was a highly accurate leaker and was the first to predict the arrival of Dynamic Islands, which was first implemented in the iPhone 14 Pro. The leaker also predicts that the iPhone 15’s volume and power buttons will be solid-state (with haptic feedback), which is in line with other leakers’ predictions.

With the iPhone 15 expected to go even higher in price, Apple needs to get fans’ attention. However, it remains to be seen whether the design changes reported here will be welcomed.
