Far EasTone pointed out that the pre-order volume of new iPhones this year increased by 80% compared with last year. Looking at the proportion of each model on sale in the first wave, the iPhone 15 Pro Max was the largest, followed by the iPhone 15 Pro. The two models together accounted for more than 80%.
In addition, Far EasTone also believes that this year’s new iPhone will have the best sales since the launch of 5G. The launch of 5G in 2020 coincides with the epidemic. Now that 5G is mature, as well as the replacement wave of iPhone 12 users and the demand for 4G users such as iPhone 11 to upgrade to 5G, it will help increase buying sentiment.
As for the tariff, Far EasTone analyzed that the high tariff in previous years was mainly 1,399 yuan, which has increased to 1,599 yuan this year.
Lin Dongmin, Chief Commercial Officer of Taiwan’s personal user business, said that judging from Taiwan’s large pre-order situation, the number of iPhone 15 online pre-orders increased by 70%, and the response from physical channels was enthusiastic. After the sale starts, it is estimated that more than 70% of users will apply for more than 1,399 yuan. For high-rate projects, as the unit price of mobile phones rises, the mobile phone industry will rely more on telecom subsidy sales. Users will purchase phones with high-rate projects, which will continue to inject growth momentum into ARPU.
Regarding the sales of the iPhone 15 series, Taiwan expects it to grow by at least 10% compared to the iPhone 14 series. At the same time, it is expected that the number of 5G users will increase by about 20% compared with August.
