Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The iPhone 15 series will reportedly use the latest A16 Bionic chipset with a 3nm fabrication process. For information, chips with 3nm architecture allow performance increases of up to 15%.
In addition, power consumption can be more efficient up to 35%. It’s no wonder that this technology has become the target of HP vendors to introduce products with high performance.
TSMC is the largest chip manufacturer trusted to produce 3nm chips. The Taiwanese vendor said that he would produce 3 types of chips with 3nm architecture.
However, rumors say that Apple has bought up 90% of the 3nm chips for the iPhone 15 and future Mac series. If true, this will make Android cellphone manufacturers competing to pocket 10% of 3nm chips for their cellphones.
This news is reinforced by Qualcomm and MediaTek, which are said to have secured a chip with 4nm fabrication from TSMC, quoted from GizchinaTuesday (16/5/2023).
The 4nm chip itself has a performance below 3nm, with an estimated lower price. This means that the performance of an Android cellphone may not be able to beat the iPhone 15. This is because the Android HP chip has so far been supported by Qualcomm and MediaTek.
