iPhone 14 satellite functionality nears launch later this year
The rumor : Apple’s highly-anticipated satellite communications feature could be launching on the iPhone 14, according to Mark Gurman (86.4% accuracy, via To light up).
Sam’s review: The fact that this agreement was signed and announced with a limited company makes me think of Apple (in addition, the first-ever satellite connectivity report mentioned Globalstar as an Apple partner). We’ve seen this in the past where an Apple partner talks about a deal before Apple is ready, and it always happens that way. I’d bet pretty strongly that we see this on the iPhone 14, especially since we know it’s been in development for several years.
