iPhone 14 Max Production Has Problems Will Be 3 Weeks Late

Selular.ID – Apple iPhone 14 Max may not arrive at the expected time. As per a report by Nikkei Asia, the production of the iPhone 14 Max will be 3 weeks late due to the lockdown in China, where smartphones are assembled.

Last week, it was reported that the ongoing Covid-19 lockdown in China is expected to have a significant impact on Apple’s revenue for the April-June quarter.

With the company forecasting a sales loss of $8 billion, mainly due to the Shanghai shutdown.

According to the report, the Cupertino company has instructed suppliers to speed up production of new iPhone models to make up for lost time.

Certain Shanghai regions went into lockdown at the end of March, and while restrictions are now starting to ease, supply chain disruptions persist.

Apple is preparing to launch four new iPhone models this year, tentatively named iPhone 14, 14 Pro, 14 Max, and 14 Pro Max.

The iPhone 14 and Pro models will feature a 6.1-inch display, while the Max and Pro Max models will come with a 6.7-inch display.

As per the report, the four models are currently in the engineering verification test (EVT) stage. At this stage, the supplier completes all the parts and processes before starting mass production of the new iPhone and also calculates the production costs.

However, due to the lockdown in Shanghai, one of the models was reportedly about three weeks behind schedule. Analyst Jeff Pu claims that the delayed model is the long-rumored iPhone 14 Max.

This is not the first time Apple has faced such a dilemma. The same thing happened during iPhone 12 production in 2020.
