At the beginning of May, Apple taking BOE hands in the bag to modify the manufacturing process of the panels OLED for‘iPhone without notifying him beforehand. These hidden modifications had angered the Cupertino company, to the point that BOE had come close to being banned from the supply chain from Apple. A few weeks later, however, BOE denied having been ejected from Apple’s supply chain.
The Elec confirms the supplier’s statements today: Apple is said to be about to evaluate the OLED panels produced by BOE on behalf of the iPhone 14. The first series of OLED panels from BOE will thus be thoroughly examined by Apple in the current of the week. There is nothing to say, however, that the supplier has not suffered some retaliation from Apple, in the form for example of a volume of orders in OLED panels lower than that of the iPhone 13. In any case of figure, Samsung and LG Display will produce the bulk of the OLED screens for the iPhone 14.
