iPhone 13 Pro models come with a 120 Hz ProMotion display

AppleProMotion was first introduced with the 2017 iPad Pro. However, this feature has not yet come to iPhone models. To put it simply, ProMotion offers a 120Hz refresh rate compared to the current 60 Hz refresh rate of iPhones. This aims to provide a smoother experience when scrolling and playing games. According to reports, the ProMotion screen, which Apple does not use in iPhone 12 models, finally comes with the iPhone 13 Pro models.

SAMSUNG AND LG TAKES ACTION

According to industry sources, Apple will use ProMotion LTPO displays with a refresh rate of 120 Hz in iPhone 13 Pro models. An incoming report claims Apple’s display suppliers Samsung Display and LG Display are in the process of transforming production lines to produce LTPO OLED panels for upcoming iPhone models.

BOE DE ON THE TABLE FOR iPHONE 13

Apple is allegedly considering adding the Chinese display manufacturer BOE to the list of LTPO display suppliers for the iPhone 13, despite repeatedly failing quality control tests, as well as Samsung and LG Display. BOE is reported to be testing Apple-specific LTPO panels at one of its factories in China. Accordingly, it is stated that BOE has taken action to provide screen supply to Apple.

15 PERCENT TO 20 PERCENT LESS POWER CONSUMPTION

Even though Apple uses ProMotion LTPO displays with 120 Hz refresh rate, there are some obstacles that it may encounter. This is nothing more than power consumption that can increase with a higher refresh rate. Sources of claim report that on this front, the iPhone 13 Pro models will offer 15 to 20 percent less power consumption. Although not mentioned, the Apple A15 chip, which is expected to power new phones, likely increases power efficiency. So everything can be fine.

WHAT DO ANALYSTS THINK?

Apple analysts also share some ideas about iPhone 13 Pro models. For example, Ming-Chi Kuo thinks that the iPhone 13 Pro models will have higher refresh rate displays. Leak source Max Weinbach believes that in addition to the 120Hz refresh rate, the iPhone models expected to be released in the autumn of 2021 will have an always-on display feature.
