Is the iPhone 13 Pro Max really the best smartphone on the market? After two months, I have a lot of thoughts on this. I invite you to my (not) review.
iPhone 13 Pro Max it’s my private smartphone for two months. This material is definitely not a review. I will allow myself to do this somehow before the premiere of the iPhone 14. It is a rather loose collection of thoughts of someone who has not seen the world except Android for 10 years. Was it really worth PLN 5699?
iPhone 13 Pro Max is really heavy
Why did I even switch to iOS? I haven’t changed it at all because of iOS. Honestly, I did not even consider buying an iPhone other than the 13 Pro Max. I wanted a great screen, finally a good FaceID and a battery. It will sound funny, but this phone is worth buying for the battery alone. But more on that in a moment.

For starters, I’d like to focus on the disadvantages. The biggest problem with the iPhone 13 Pro Max for most is the size. I do not agree with that. For me, it could be even bigger. The problem is weight. The smartphone in the case weighs 262 grams. That’s 100 grams more than my previous Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G NE. Of course the steel bezel is to blame for this, but it still annoys after two months.
Other disadvantages? Since I’m too old for beta, it annoys less the lack of vibration when typing. This shortcoming will only disappear with the release of iOS 16, i.e. probably in the fall. It is completely incomprehensible to me. iPhone 13 Pro Max has the best vibrations you can find in any smartphone. They are simply brilliant and unsurpassed. And Apple has not used them while writing for so many years. Madness.
Is charging really that slow?
No and yes. It depends on whether you are in the habit of charging to full capacity. If so, and you’re switching from a non-Samsung Android, you’ll be damned. Charging from 0 to 80% is really snappy. After that, it seems to go on for ages. Personally, I try to recharge it when the battery level drops to 30 percent. And disconnect when it reaches 80-85%.
Believe me, it is enough to use it intensively from morning to evening. And it’s someone who plays Pokemon Go for 30 hours a week. The battery never seems to run out. I love him for that. The second option is overnight charging – I use a Green Cell wireless charger. Why this? Because she was on promotion. Each will be limited to 7.5W anyway.
Work culture is a miracle for me
If you are reading this at all and considering buying an iPhone 13 Pro Max, that’s for sure have you seen speed testy. And you know that when it comes to the speed of opening an application, no Android can match it. But I’m generally a patient person, so it doesn’t matter that much to me. Overheating is another matter.
Is the iPhone 13 Pro Max able to overheat? Yes. Leave it in direct sunlight in July, turn on the hotspot, connect it to charging, and turn on Pokemon Go. The thing is, such a combo will kill literally every phone on the market. In regular use, this phone simply does not heat up.

A few hours of gaming sessions can make the back of the housing warmer. However, I mainly put it down to the case, because at home the same situation does not happen without the case. Throttling? This concept ceased to exist for me. Probably software throttling occurs, but the phone never slows down even for a moment.
Reason enough to buy an iPhone 13 Pro Max
We return to the battery like a boomerang. The built-in cell has a capacity of 4352 mAh. This is not enough if we look at the Android flagships in 2022. And a lot when combined with other Apple phones. The only important thing for me is that this smartphone cannot be unloaded in one day. I mean – it is possible, but you have to be me.
My average day is at least 4 hours of playing Pokemon Go outdoors. Usually in the sun. SoT basically never drops below 7-8 hours. And in such a situation it happens quite often that an 80-85% charged iPhone 13 Pro Max does not call for electricity until late in the evening.

No previous phone call gave me such comfort. The exception was the Samsung Galaxy M51, but it is a monster with a 7000 mAh cell. A mid-shelf processor. And a 60 Hz screen. There is no other flagship that would be able to work so long and intensively without recharging. Honestly, it was the most important reason for me to spend such money.
iOS can go crazy
What I don’t like about iPhone 13 Pro Max? After Apple finally noticed people were wearing glasses, FaceID dropped off the list. If, like me, you have a severe visual impairment, you don’t have to worry about it anymore. Wearing a mask, in a dark room, wearing sunglasses – it will always work. This is comfort that the iPhone X did not give. Or the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

What I don’t like the most is iOS. Folders. Downloading the notification and function bar with separate gestures. No charge indicator. Auto-complete desktops. Grouping notifications is a joke.
iOS also has advantages. It’s perfectly fluid, just always. In addition, it manages energy well and does not choke the application in the background. And it’s basically the only good thing I can write about him. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it. Android is still light years ahead of him.
