The iPhone 13 has only been on sale for a while, which does not mean that there are no more people who can use its improved cameras in a not quite typical way. One of them is ophthalmologist Tommy Korn, who uses the iPhone 13 Pro as an aid during his examinations.
He examines the eyes of his patients using the macro mode, which is a novelty for the iPhone 13 Pro (Max). Macro mode uses the iPhone 13 Pro’s (Max) wide-angle lens to capture details of the subject from as close as 2 centimeters.
A detailed macro photograph of the eyes was used by Dr. Tommy Korn, for example, in his patient after a corneal transplant, which led to a painful abrasion of the cornea. Photo of a doctor used to monitor the rate of abrasion healing. Together with his colleague Jeffrey Lewis, they are convinced that the macro mode of the iPhone 13 Pro (Max) will help the faster development of the field of telemedicine.
This is not the first time Dr. Korn has used an Apple device to help his patients. Last November, for example, he used a handwritten application on the CareKit platform to help his patients after surgery, such as medication warnings or treatment information, which they received directly on their Apple Watch.
