Apple recently unveiled the iPhone 12 family, and the Internet is already full of rumors about the iPhone 13 expected next September. According to the latest data provided by the Korean edition of The Elec, two models of the iPhone 13 series, presumably the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, will receive displays with a frequency refresh 120 Hz.

It is believed that Apple has abandoned this feature in the iPhone 12 due to problems with the autonomy of smartphones. This problem is expected to be addressed next year with the introduction of a low temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) backplane. In addition, next year’s flagship Apple smartphones may receive support for Always On Display. Recall that the first devices in the industry with LTPO panels were the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and Z Fold 2. This technology can reduce the power consumption of OLED panels by 20 percent.

Today’s report from The Elec also reveals that Samsung will supply most of the OLED panels for the iPhone 13. The remainder will be split between LG and BOE, provided they are tested to meet Apple quality standards. It is also reported that the iPhone 13 will receive a fingerprint sensor built into the display, which confirms an earlier leak, according to which the upcoming flagships will receive both Face ID and Touch ID.
