IPhone 12 rumors: 120 Hz screen, large battery, LiDAR sensor

Among the new products expected this year in the iPhone range, there is 5G of course, screen sizes for all tastes (from 5.4 to 6.7 inches), as well as an inspiring design all of the iPad Pro and the iPhone 4. But that’s not all: the rumor has also announced two or three times the possibility of a 120 Hz screen, like what the iPad Pro offers with ProMotion technology.

Max Weinbach and his acolyte Filip Koroy, the youtubeur of the chain EverythingApplePro, put a layer on it today in a new video. The two accomplices, often well informed, give some details on this famous screen, as well as other noises from the corridor. The 6.1 and 6.7 inch iPhone 12 Pro could thus pass from 60 to 120 Hz dynamically, depending on what is on the screen – again, like ProMotion on tablets.

A 120 Hz screen and 5G require a sufficiently large battery to offer the best possible autonomy (or the least worse depending on the point of view): on the large model, it would offer a capacity of 4,400 mAh. For comparison, the battery in the iPhone 11 Pro Max is 3,969 mAh.

The iPhone 12 should be available in four models this year: 5.4 and 6.1 inches with two photo sensors on the back; 6.1 and 6.7 inches with three photo modules and the LiDAR sensor.

As for the camera (s), Weinbach and Koroy announce an improvement in low-light shots (Smart HDR mode will also benefit) as well as stability. The presence of the LiDAR scanner was to do wonders for autofocus and portrait mode. The telephoto lens would finally go beyond the x2 optical zoom (x3). Finally, Face ID would have a wider angle of view, which would allow more effective unlocking from different angles (and why not with the iPhone in landscape, like the iPad Pro?).

Keep in mind that these are all rumors, but they advertise quite promising smartphones in a lot of sectors.
