IPhone 12 production delayed by about a month due to coronavirus | NOW

Apple postpones production of its new phones for a month, reports The Wall Street Journal Monday on the basis of insiders. The company is reportedly launching four new types of iPhones this fall.

The postponement would be due to the coronavirus, which disrupts production chains in Asia. The demand for new phones is also said to have declined.

Still, Apple plans to release four iPhones this year. Of those, a few are equipped with 5G support. There would be a version with a 5.4-inch screen, two versions with a 6.1-inch screen and a variant with a 6.7-inch screen.

It is not clear whether the postponement of production has an impact on the publication date of the iPhone 12. It may be that there are slightly fewer devices available than usual at the start.

In the past, Apple was more likely to experience production delays. For example, the iPhone X was announced in September 2017, but that device was not in stores until November 2017 due to manufacturing problems.
