iPhone 12 Pro: good news and bad news

Ahead of the presentation, we have good and bad news about the iPhone 12 Pro.

Tomorrow, on September 15, Apple will present its iPhone 12 series. There is always a lot of leakage before a presentation and this time is no different. The insiders are now sharing information that means both good and bad news for the iPhone 12 Pro.

Bad news for iPhone 12 Pro

Since the iPad Pro had a refresh rate of 120 Hz, it was rumored that Apple would also offer this option on the Pro (MAX) edition of the iPhone 12. There seemed to be evidence for it and it would also include certain features, such as the Apple Pencil, to function better. The information soon came from suppliers that Apple had set up the process in such a way that the choice for a 120 Hz refresh rate could be postponed until the last moment. After all, Apple only brings innovations if they are sure that they work 100%. Apparently that is not the case yet, because the well-known insider Jon Prosser Tweeted that this option is not (after all) coming to the iPhone 12.

Good news for the iPhone 12 Pro

Fortunately, there is also some good news to report. Another insider managed to get hold of a film of the chassis of the upcoming iPhone 12 Pro.

Indeed, as this insider shares, it looks like we can expect LIDAR camera technology. Although, assuming that this is indeed the final chassis, we can conclude that the camera setting design differs from previous renders. Yet there was already LIDAR at the time of the renders. The insider has not (yet) released a movie of the front, so they may give renders you a taste.

Price and availability

It is already certain that this series of smartphones will be delayed, but we expect to hear definitively tomorrow when we can buy the latest series. According to rumors the 6.1 inch version of the iPhone 12 Pro is the fastest on the market. However, according to Prosser, mass production only started last week. If this is correct, we must wait a little longer. Anyway, we’ll know more tomorrow. We also know for sure that the first type of iPhone 12 will be in stores in October.
