All this is of course also in the new iPhone 15 Pro, but is missing in the iPhone 11 Pro with which we are now comparing it.

Slow innovation
If you look up and look at other mobile brands over the past years, we can look at the differences between the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus compared to the new S23 Ultra or for that matter the new Xiaomi 13 Pro compared to the Xiaomi Mi 9 and it feels like Apple has taken significantly less progress. Many times new technology such as periscope zoom, faster screen update and Always on Display have come first to Android mobiles and much later found their way into the iPhone as well.
iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro
When we compare the iPhone 11 Pro with the iPhone 15 Pro purely visually on the outside, much is the same. The home button is gone in both, we have three cameras on the back, but only the new Iphone 15 Pro has the new button on the side, the one that you can choose for yourself what to do. A shortcut for something you want close at hand.
If we compare the characteristics that are not immediately visible, the biggest differences are found in performance and in the cameras, but they should not be exaggerated.
In addition to using the phones, I run a variety of performance tests to get comparable, accurate numbers. That the iPhone 15 Pro is faster and better in every way is of course no surprise. The interesting thing in this comparison is to see if it is as superior as the large price difference suggests. It isn’t.
Depending on which performance tests I lean towards, the iPhone 11 Pro provides performance in the levels between 50 percent and 80 percent of what we see in the iPhone 15 Pro. However, these are mainly theoretical numbers and are not noticeable to the same extent when I practically use the phone, edit film, take pictures or play games.
The same thing actually applies when I compare images from the cameras. The iPhone 15 Pro undoubtedly has better cameras on paper. Bigger sensor, better resolution, but the most important thing here is that the iPhone 11 Pro has night mode, it was introduced in that model. In simple conditions in daylight, it can be difficult to distinguish between images from the two phones, but when I take, for example, night images or images with the portrait mode, it is clear which one is the best. It’s always the iPhone 15 Pro, of course. Just like when it comes to performance, however, the difference is often quite marginal and it is clear that the iPhone 11 Pro gives significantly more per kroner than what you get when you spend three times as much money on an iPhone 15 Pro.
