iPadOS 14.5 can ???? finally ???? search for an emoji

In the category of new iOS 14 features that were oddly missing on iPadOS, finding an emoji was perhaps the most bizarre and painful. As a reminder, the virtual keyboard dedicated to emojis includes a search field on iPhone, which makes it easier to find the desired design:

On the iPad, the update brought a floating palette dedicated to emojis, an interface similar to that of macOS that avoids occupying half of the screen with the virtual keyboard. This is especially useful for tablets used with a physical keyboard, especially since Apple had the good idea to use the same keyboard shortcut as on Macs to display emojis: ctrl⌘espace. Clear progress then, but this palette of emojis did not contain a search field.

A shame when we know that the palette of macOS has always integrated this search field. It took a long time for Apple to correct this oversight, but iPadOS 14.5 which appeared in a first beta yesterday is finally doing it. The emoji palette is gaining its search box, making it easy to find the right design, just like on Mac and iPhone.

Thanks Apple, thanks! ????
