The rumor originally stems from a forum in South Korea, but the information was shared by @FronTron on Twitter.

A merger with Samsung
As we know, the South Korean firm is one of the best when it comes to screens on smartphones and tablets. The rumor explains that for the 120 Hz ProMotion screen of the iPad mini, Apple would have chosen Samsung Display as an exclusive supplier, since the demand is less important than an iPhone, it is not necessarily necessary to share the work with other suppliers. In addition, Samsung has probably provided the necessary proof that its production lines will be able to widely meet Apple’s demand.
