As rumors surrounding a possible iPad mini 6 release continue to gain traction, we’re now seeing reports that Apple is polling its customers in China ahead of the rumored launch.
for me IT HomeThe Cupertino survey is said to focus on the screen sizes of the iPad mini, iPadOS, iPad accessories, and more. What’s interesting is that Apple customers are asking about the iPad mini 4, a model that was released in 2015 and has since been discontinued. However, its successor, the iPad mini 5, has an identical screen size to the previous generation. The survey asks whether users find the screen size ideal, too large, or too small.
The source also explained that customers are reportedly being asked about their devices, especially if they have tablets from their competitors such as Samsung, Windows PC, Amazon or Huawei. Additionally, the survey includes questions about other smartphone brands, Apple Watch, and more.
Another part of the survey relates to iPad mini accessories, such as keyboards, headphones, protective cases, including charging adapters, cables, and more, and asks whether customers use them.
While this may be a simple customer experience survey, we remember how Cupertino ran a similar survey before the iPhone 12 model launched last year. After the announcement followed, the box of the latest iPhone products was stripped of the power adapter and EarPods that were previously included. This adjustment is part of Apple’s new sustainable packaging strategy to reduce e-waste.
According to rumors, the iPad mini 6 is expected to feature a small LED display of the same size as its 7.9-inch predecessor, while other sources claim that the next iPad mini model will get an 8.4-inch display. Complementing a mini-LED panel (currently on iPad Pro 2021 models) can increase brightness and contrast levels over traditional LCD screens.
Apple leaker John Prosser speculates that the new iPad mini 6 is powered by the A14 Bionic chip, which is currently featured in the latest iPhone 12 models. The Lightning port can also be swapped for USB-C, and the iPad mini 6 may offer optional 5G connectivity.
By design, a series of offerings for the iPad mini 6 from Jon Prosser and RendersbyIan hint at a design that resembles the shape of the 2020 iPad Air: smaller bezels, no home button, Touch ID on the sides and flat edges.
