We have heard of delays for large orders of iPads intended for schools in France. Although these were taken earlier than in previous years (starting in May), not all of them have yet been honored. For example, an establishment has so far only received a few dozen iPad 7s on an order that must number several hundred in total.
This unusual depletion of stocks is explained by the coronavirus pandemic which had a double effect: a slowdown in production and higher demand – iPad sales increased by 31% (in revenue) in the second quarter of 2020 compared to Q2 2019.
