The second beta of iOS 14.7 is currently only available to developers.
Apple has just released the second beta of iOS 14.7. A version accessible only to developers and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The new beta indeed causes an annoying problem: the SIM card is no longer recognized by the iPhone in which it is located.
If the problems are not rare with the betas – they are precisely used to identify them -, certain bugs can make the devices on which they are installed completely unusable. That is why it is advisable to download them to unused devices and make a backup before installing them. If something goes wrong, users will be able to restore their iPhone and recover their data.
In this case, iOS 14.7 beta 2 causes a bug in the SIM card. The latter is simply not recognized by the iPhone which makes it impossible to send or receive SMS, but also phone calls. It is also not possible to use your mobile data to connect to the Internet. The iPhone turns into an iPod Touch in a way.

According to the various testimonies, the bug manifests itself especially with eSIMs, virtual SIM cards. Unfortunately, at this point in time, it’s hard to know what’s causing this problem. There is no workaround for the problem.
If you were planning on installing the latest iOS 14.7 beta, it might be better to wait for the third beta. The problem of the failure of the SIM card should return very quickly to the ears of Apple, which should logically solve the problem with the new beta.
If you’ve already downloaded the update, but haven’t installed it yet, you can cancel the process. To do this, head to your iPhone settings> General> iPhone storage> iOS 14.7 beta 2 and tap on it. Then choose “Remove update”, quite simply.
