iOS 17.6.2 Coming Soon to iPhone to Fix Bugs

The corrective updates are coming one after another, with iOS 17.6.2 soon to be available for download on iPhone. There will also be iPadOS 17.6.2 for users with an iPad.

Information about the existence and imminent arrival of iOS 17.6.2 come from a private X account (ex-Twitter) that is always very well informed about upcoming iPhone and iPad updates. He announces that the new version will have build numbers 21G101 and/or 21G102. This could suggest that some devices will have 21G101, while others will have 21G102. In comparison, iOS 17.6.1 has build number 21G93.

There is no information yet on the fixes to be found with iOS 17.6.2. In any case, we won’t have to wait long to discover them, knowing that Apple should offer the update during the week that is about to begin.

As a reminder, there have already been two updates in less than a month. Apple offered iOS 17.6 for download on July 29. This was an update with no particular new features for most users. Apple indicated: “This update provides important fixes and security improvements and is recommended for all users.”The only new feature was the availability of satellite emergency calls in Japan. Also, the release closed 35 security holes.

Then came iOS 17.6.1, which was released on August 7. This version is the latest one. It fixed a bug that could prevent you from enabling or disabling Advanced Data Protection for iCloud.

Next up is iOS 18. Developers and public testers have the betas right now. The final version will be available in September.
