In the latest version of profession newsAnd BloombergMark Gorman brings more interesting information about iOS 16 and watchOS 9, which he calls the “big update”. This is the first time Gorman has reported on the upcoming operating system after Apple announced its WWDC 2022 keyword designation on June 6.
Starting with iOS 16, a Bloomberg journalist said he was looking for some “pretty significant improvements across the board, including updates to notifications and a new health tracking feature.”
On the redesign, Gurman doesn’t think Apple will bring a “comprehensive redesign of the iOS interface, although not much has changed since iOS 7.”
An interesting piece of information regarding the potential new iPadOS multitasking interface. With iPadOS 15, Apple has made it easier for users to take advantage of its multitasking capabilities, but not in the way power users expect. Maybe iPadOS 16 can finally change that.
In addition to iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, Gorman said the Apple Watch “may get major improvements to activity and health tracking.” Previously, the journalist said that it will be a great year for the Apple Watch lineup, as three new watches are scheduled to be released later this year, You can also read more about it here.
Last but not least, Gurman doubled down that Apple is unlikely to announce anything about a Reality hybrid headset, even though iOS 16 should be full of it. He is writing:
As far as I know, a full introduction to the Mixed Reality headset will likely be out of the question in June, but I’m told the beta version of iOS 16 – codenamed Sydney – is full of references to the headset and its interactions with the iPhone.
That suggests that the speaker will launch during the iOS 16 cycle, which starts in June and will run until the release of iOS 17 in fall 2023. But it could also suggest that Apple could preview some of its upcoming augmented and virtual reality software early. . . . Maybe we can even take a peek at the rOS headset, which stands for Reality Operating System.
