This week, Apple will release another update for the iPhone when iOS 14.6 is rolled out to compatible devices. iOS 14.6 comes only a month after the major update iOS 14.5, and is far from as rich in content.
The biggest news for Norwegian iPhone users who also subscribe Apple Music, is that iOS 14.6 facilitates “lossless”, or lossless if you will, sound and support for Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos.
Earlier this month, Apple announced that Apple Music will support high-resolution music in Apple Music and will update its entire music library. Lossless music in Apple Music will be launched in June at no extra cost, and will be a competitor to, among others, Tidal.
Later this year also comes Spotify with high definition music streaming.

Furthermore, Apple releases a small improvement to the AirTag and Where is? App, which allows you to now add an email address in addition to the phone number when you have activated lost mode for one of your devices.
Another novelty in iOS 14.6 is support for subscribing to podcasts and other content for access to extra material and things like ad-free listening.
In addition, Apple is rolling out the Apple Card Family, which is a service for gathering multiple family members into one account. So far, the Apple Card is not available in Norway, so Norwegian users will have to wait until they use this service.

iOS 14.6 also includes a number of bug fixes and security updates. Among the bug fixes, Apple has weeded out an error that caused the unlock with the Apple Watch not to work after unlocking the iPhone with the Apple Watch and that reminders were displayed as blank lines.

This is the sixth iOS update Apple is rolling out to iOS 14 so far this year. 14.4 came in January and was followed by several updates that closed security holes and corrected errors, as well as added new features.
iOS 14.5 is the most significant and add content like new Siri tricks, unlock with Apple Watch, App Tracking Transparency and more new emoticons.
