Family Sharing has always allowed you to share all kinds of purchases, including apps, iCloud storage, and Apple Music. Now is in there iOS 14.2 something extra added: app subscriptions and in-app purchases can also be shared with your family.
iOS 14.2: Share subscriptions
Apple already announced the option to share in-app purchases and subscriptions during WWDC 2020 in June. But only now is the function available for the first time. To use the option, you must Family sharing have set.
It is up to developers to decide whether they want to provide the option. Not every in-app purchase or app subscription can therefore be shared. In apps where this is possible, users seem to be notified via a notification.

In the Settings app is a new switch for sharing subscriptions. You can find it at ‘Settings>[Je naam]> Subscriptions’. The option is enabled by default. Furthermore, there is also the option to disable subscription sharing for a specific app.
iOS 14.2
To use the feature, you need iOS 14.2. The software was already released in early November, but only now has Apple activated the feature. If iOS 14.2 is already on your iPhone, there is no need to install a new software update.
