It is a tradition at Apple that one of the first updates of a new iOS version opens a can of new emojis. This year, the honor falls to iOS 14.2. In this software version, the 117 new emoji announced by the Unicode Consortium in January are available. This concerns new figures, but also variations on existing emojis.

The animal kingdom is complemented by a black cat, bison, mammoth, beaver, polar bear, dodo, seal, beetle, cockroach, fly and worm. In terms of food, you will also have a choice of blueberries, olives, bell pepper and bubble tea.

Emojis are also somewhat more gender neutral and more inclusive. For example, there is a man in a bridal veil and tuxedos are no longer limited to men. There is also a Mx Claus, a gender neutral version for Santa and Mrs. Claus.
