Already in December 2019 there was concrete evidence of thisthat Apple is working on the new Powerbeats 4. With the Release of iOS 13.3.1 tonight, the whole thing is underpinned again.

iOS 13.3.1 reveals Powerbeats 4

While iOS 13.3 “only” produced lines of code for the upcoming Powerbeats 4, the recently released iOS 13.3.1 contains a photo or an icon for the Powerbeats 4. It should therefore not be long before Apple presents another headphone.

The icon that appears today indicates that the new Powerbeats 4 are an optical mixture of the Powerbeats 3 and the Powerbeats Pro. The Powerbeats 4 seem to have a more rounded design with the same angled in-ear fit and circumferential ear hooks as the Powerbeats Pro. However, like the Powerbeats 3, the Powerbeats 4 are not completely wireless, so that a cable is shown at the bottom of the ear hook. However, it is noticeable that the cable on the Powerbeats 4 is flanged at the end of the ear hook.

The Powerbeats 4 should be just like the AirPods 2 (here our AirPods 2 test), AirPods Pro (here our AirPods Pro test) and Powerbeats Pro have the Apple H1 chip and support “Hey Siri” and “Announce messages with Siri”. Apple charges $ 249.95 for the Powerbeats Pro in the US, and $ 199.99 for the Powerbeats 3. The price of the Powerbeats 4 should be on the level of the Powerbeats 3.

When Apple officially introduces the new Powerbeats 4 is not known. Basically, this can now be every day, iOS and Co. are prepared and the Powerbeats 4 should be officially presented shortly. (via Macrumors)
