IOC “Brisbane, Australia as the preferred bidder for the 2032 Summer Olympics”

Brisbane, Australia was chosen as the preferred negotiating site for the 2032 Summer Olympics.

According to Reuters, Thomas Bach, chairman of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), said at a video press conference on the 24th (local time) that “I approved the recommendation of the Summer Olympics Future Promotion Committee to select Brisbane as the priority negotiation site.”

In addition to Brisbane, ΔIndonesia Jakarta ΔHungary Budapest ΔChengdu, China, Chongqing ΔQatar Doha ΔGerman Reinruar ΔSouth and North Korea expressed interest in hosting the 2013 Summer Olympics.

Brisbane is known to have been highly praised for its existing sports facilities, excellent master plan, experience in hosting major events, and good weather. Australia held the Summer Olympics in Sydney in 2000 (Seoul = News 1).
