Involve the Haitian Paspampres boss, here’s the plot

PORT AU PRINCE – The head of Haiti’s presidential security force (Paspampres) and three of his members were arrested by the police for being involved in a brutal murder President Jovenel Moise . The Haitian president was shot dead by a group of foreign mercenaries who stormed his residence on July 7.

The arrest of the head of Paspampres and three of his members was conveyed by the head of the Haiti National Police, Leon Charles. He also reveals that the assassination of president Moise was planned in a neighboring country; Dominican Republic.

During the horrific attack on Moise’s residence in Port-au-Prince in the early hours of July 7, the paspampres members were not injured. This has sparked suspicions that the assassination plot was the work of an insider.

Meanwhile, a photo circulating on social media identified two suspects – both of whom were later arrested – meeting former Haitian opposition senator Joel John Joseph, who is being hunted by police.

Charles said the photo was taken while the three were in the Dominican capital planning to kill Moise, whose body was found riddled with bullets.

“They met at a hotel in Santo Domingo,” Charles told reporters AFP, Friday (16/7/2021). “Around the table are the plot architects, the technical recruitment team and the financial group,” he said.

“Some of the people in the photos have been arrested, such as Dr Christian Emmanuel Sanon and James Solages,” Charles added.

The killings, which occurred during a period of escalating gang violence and political instability, have plunged Haiti into confusion and raised fears of an explosion in COVID-19 cases.
