After being arrested for dancing while reciting the Holy Quran, he apologized Egyptian reciter Famous Sheikh Muhammad Hamid Al-Salkawi, for the incident.
And he said in a post on his Facebook page: “I apologize to Almighty God for the involuntary movement I experienced while reading his holy book.”
He also added: “I do not seek, through this apology, to mitigate the punishment meted out by the Unified Committee for the Examination of Rectors and Inquisitors and the Readers’ Union, but rather seek God’s satisfaction and forgiveness for my involuntary movement .”
Anger in communication
A storm of anger swept through media sites in Egypt after social media users released a video clip of Sheikh Al-Silkawi, in which he appeared to dance and make erratic movements with his hands and body while reciting verses from Surat Al-Shura, in contrast to the prestige and sanctity of the Holy Quran.
While tweeters demanded that the narrator be barred from acting again, or that necessary action be taken against him.
For its part, the Syndicate of Recitators and Memorizers of the Noble Koran has released a statement in which it has decided to suspend the reciter and refer him to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
And he said a video circulated through social media of a radio player reciting the Noble Quran of Surat Al-Shura and making movements that are not appropriate for the Book of God while reciting.
