Specifically, people said, around 17:30 on April 23, a lot of students invited each other to the Red River alluvial area, passing through Yen Tap commune, to play soccer and other games. After playing, the children jumped into the river to bathe, resulting in the deaths of NMH (SN 2009) and NXH (SN 2012), both in Quang Trung 2 area, Yen Tap commune, Cam Khe district, Phu Tho province.

After receiving the news, Party committees, local authorities, functional forces of districts, communes and schools went to the scene to search, encourage and share with the victims’ families. At about 00:30 on April 24, the functional forces recovered the bodies of two victims, about 300 to 500 meters away from the place where they crashed.

Talking to PV, a representative of the People’s Committee of Cam Khe district warned that, in the hot season, especially when the summer break is coming, parents need to strengthen management and supervision of their children, especially reminding They should stay away from deep water areas and riverside mudflats. Communes, towns and schools need to strengthen propaganda on prevention of drowning accidents for students, asking them not to bathe in rivers, ponds, lakes and deep water places (even if they already know how to swim). .

“Local authorities also need to put up danger warning signs in places where drowning may occur; have solutions to support and organize children and students to participate in swimming classes to help they have measures to protect themselves, to avoid tragic accidents,” he stressed.
