Mazatlán Lions Club invites citizens to join its campaign to donate handouts to vulnerable people in the port; They make a call to donate non-perishable food and essential personal items.
The massive food collection will be from 11 to 13 November at the Soriana Insurgentes and Toreo stores, from 9:00 to 18:00. In a press conference, Father Amador Campos Serrano, accompanied by some of his colleagues from the Lions Club, explained that they will also receive financial contributions for those who wish, as they also have to buy chickens to be delivered on Christmas Eve.
“I also invite the Mazatlan community to participate, because we will be in Las Sorianas asking for your help, we will ask for a kilo of beans, or for products that can complete these handouts, whatever you like is not a small contribution, remember that a little little, much has been done, “said Amador Campos Serrano.
During the press conference was present the citizen Erick López Rodríguez, who was the lucky winner of a lottery of 10 thousand pesos that this association of 78 years of altruistic trajectory has achieved. However, the young man has decided to donate his prize so that this sum can be bought in food for these handouts.
“I want to thank the opportunity they give me to help, and mainly my mother and my grandparents who are the ones who taught me to help those who need it most, it makes me very happy to donate this award and know that it will help a lot”, he said. Erick Lopez Rodriguez.
Father Amador Campos Serrano said that so far they do not have a goal and that they hope to have food in their hands to seek out those people who will benefit from it, but in particular they will make sure that they are people who need it.
On the other hand, he announced that the hearing aid donation program is already active which, together with other Lions clubs, makes them available to the citizens of Mazatlan at low cost.
For those interested in purchasing a hearing aid, they must set aside 500 pesos, then make a payment of 3,500 pesos to be delivered immediately.
“This is a symbolic price, these hearing aids have a higher cost, a very high cost and we try to lower the price as much as possible so that they are more affordable. In addition, there are those who try to donate these devices as well, that is, they pay them so that some people receive them for free ”, said the priest.
Finally, he said that last time 80 hearing aids were delivered and they hope there will be more this time.
