The City of Saint-Sulpice-la-Pointe invites the population to participate in a new public information meeting and debate on the pedestrianization project for Rue de Reims, next Thursday, November 16. It is part of the initiatives undertaken by the City and the Community of Municipalities to revitalize local commercial activity, particularly in the city center, in addition to what can be undertaken by the existing economic fabric. Meet from 7 p.m., Georges Spénale room, on Thursday, November 16, to discuss the results and analysis of the summer experiment on the pedestrianization of rue de Reims. It is also an opportunity to look forward to the months to come, during which the new actions carried out will be presented. The evening will continue with a drink offered by the town hall to the participants. As a reminder, the town hall of Saint-Sulpice-la-Pointe launched a reflection on the pedestrianization of rue de Reims a year ago, a reflection which is part of a more global project to revitalize the city center supported by the “Small Cities of Tomorrow” program. The system, co-constructed with residents, traders and street users, came to fruition this summer when the street was closed to car traffic for 17 evenings. Workshops, consultations, public meetings, joint work… now make way for a fair and uncompromising assessment of the experimentation carried out. All these steps are necessary to continue building the city together.
