In dialogue with BLU Radio, the director of Invima, Julio Cesar Aldana, confirmed that authorization was given in the country to apply the vaccine against COVID-19
from the pharmaceutical Pfizer to over 12 years.
“The Invima specialized room, after the request by Pfizer to modify the authorization of ASUE, decided to expand the age group and include those over 12 years of age. Its modifications are conditioned to the behavior of the vaccine, but in Colombia young people can be vaccinated”, He told BLU Radio.
With this new authorization, minors may already be immunized against COVID-19, whether or not they have any type of comorbidity. The application would be given once the Ministry of Health enables this population to be immunized.
On the other hand, Aldana confirmed that there is still time for authorization to be given to pregnant women since they have not received a request from the pharmacist to evaluate the scientific information in this regard.
