Investors expect the S&P 500 to hit a new record next year while the U.S. economy avoids a recession, according to a Bloomberg survey.
The average expectation of 518 investors for the S&P 500 index is that it will rise to 4,808 points.
It is also predicted that the US 10-year bond yield will fall from the 5% peak reached this year to 3.8%.
More than two-thirds of those polled believe the US economy will not experience a severe recession, as markets and most experts expect the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates before July.
Of the investors and fund managers surveyed, 43% think U.S. stocks will outperform global peers next year, while 31% think they will perform on par and 26% think U.S. stocks will underperform global stocks.
