Investors: Cryptocurrencies are “rat poison”

Every third major investor believes that cryptocurrencies are “rat poison”, show the results of a new study by JPMorgan, published on Tuesday, technews.bg reports.

The bank said every third investor who responded to its survey considered cryptocurrency “rat poison.” Another 16% call the phenomenon “temporary fashion.” JPMorgan conducted the study at its 24th Macro, Quantitative and Derivatives Conference on 11 June.

Investors’ views on the future of cryptocurrencies are very diverse“, said Marko Kolanovic and Dubravko Lakos-Buyas, two of JPMorgan’s top strategists, quoted in a CNBC publication.

Four out of five investors say they expect stricter regulations for cryptocurrencies. Almost all (95%) are convinced that there is some element of fraud in the world of crypto-money, it is clear from the survey.

Big businessman and investor Warren Buffett also called cryptocurrencies “rat poison” in late May. According to him, this technology is “against the interests of civilization.” Buffett is of the opinion that cryptocurrencies have no value.
