NEW YORK (Reuters) – U.S. stock indices partially recovered from heavy losses to end mixed on Monday, as investors braced for a busy week of inflation data and bank earnings.
According to preliminary data, the Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose by 3.64 points, or 0.09 percent, to close at 4,108.66 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index lost 6.10 points, or 0.05 percent, to 12,081.86. The industrial index rose 98.43 points, or 0.31 percent, to 33,583.72 points.
