Investor process started for the Johanniter Hospitals in Geesthacht – Duchy directly

Geestacht (pm). The two provisional creditor committees of Johanniter-Krankenhaus Geesthacht GmbH and Johanniter Geriatrie und Senior Center Geesthacht GmbH have decided to start an investor process. At the same time, the restructuring manager and healthcare management expert Tobias Vaasen and the general agent, lawyer Stefan Denkhaus, were commissioned to create an economic restructuring concept for the hospital and Johanniter Geriatrie und Senior Center Geesthacht GmbH, which is also in preliminary insolvency proceedings.

“The first interested parties have already registered, which is a good sign a few days after the start of self-administration,” says restructuring manager Tobias Vaasen. The care of all patients in the hospital and the residents of the Geesthacht senior center is ensured, medical care including emergency care and nursing care will continue.

General representative Stefan Denkhaus says: “After the losses at the locations were financed by the Johanniters in recent years, the Johanniters made the decision to give up the Geesthacht location for strategic reasons and to withdraw. Against this background, the deletion of the company component ‘Johanniter’ has also been registered with the commercial register for both companies.”

With Tobias Vaasen, there is now a restructuring manager at the helm of the two companies. It is contractually agreed that Johanniter and its service companies will be available until a new provider is found. The wages and salaries of the approximately 720 employees in the two hospitals, the geriatric care and the MVZ are secured during the ongoing process. The Johanniter Hospital Geesthacht cares for around 10,000 inpatients and around 20,000 outpatients every year, the senior center Johanniter-Haus Geesthacht offers 76 inpatient care places and the Geriatrics Clinic Geesthacht has 73 inpatient beds.

On behalf of the workforce, the chairman of the hospital’s employee representative committee, Jens Glasow, and the works council chairwoman for geriatrics and the senior center, Yvonne Kempf, explain: “With profound specialist knowledge and a high level of motivation, we as a workforce are committed to all people who need expert medical and medical care 365 days a year need therapeutic care and care and it will stay that way! You can rely on our team! We are ready for a sustainable future for Geesthacht as a healthcare location.”

The Schwarzenbek District Court has appointed the experienced lawyer Andreas Romey, partner in the law firm Eckert Rechtsanwälte, as the provisional administrator. He will accompany the court-ordered provisional self-administration process and represents the interests of the creditors.
