J&T Banka invests ten million crowns in a Czech fintech startup Fondee. It acquired a minority stake for it. It contributes CZK 78,948 to the company’s share capital in the amount of CZK 1.579 million. The current owners Jan Hlavsa a Eva Hlavsová they have a share in the registered capital of 693,750 crowns each, Štěpán Pudlák then 112,500 crowns.
Fondee allows ordinary people to invest similarly to, for example, Revolut or Robinhood. The money is invested in ETF funds and the Fondee promises to increase three to eight percent a year.
J&T has invested in Fondee through J&T IB and Capital Markets, not through its J&T Ventures section, which invests venture capital in startups. The financial house plans to create a fund for investments in fintech.
Fondee has not published financial results yet. It has been operating since January this year and, according to the company, has 935 customers. The founders previously worked in the City of London.
