Investment Partnership to Develop Offshore Wind Farms in Estonia and Latvia

The Lithuanian energy group “Ignitis Group” and the Danish investment fund “Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners” will cooperate in the development of offshore wind farms in Estonia and Latvia, jointly participating in tenders for the establishment of wind farms in these countries.

The cooperation agreement was signed on Tuesday by the subsidiaries of both companies “Ignitis Renewables” and “New Markets Fund I”, “Ignitis Group” informed the Vilnius Stock Exchange.

Currently available information shows that Estonia plans to announce several tenders for the construction of offshore wind farms in the last quarter of this year. In 2026, a tender is expected for the implementation of the Latvian and Estonian cross-border offshore wind farm joint project “Elwind”.

The goal of “Ignitis Renewables” and the Danish foundation is to actively and long-term cooperate in the energy changes of the Baltic region, supporting the goals of Latvia and Estonia to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and increase energy security with offshore wind farms.
