Investment measures for over BGN 1.6 billion will be opened by the end of the year – 2024-09-14 14:10:01


Receptions for new and young farmers, for the smallest farmers and for groups and organizations will be launched in November

In December – investments in irrigation infrastructure and for innovation groups

Acceptances for over BGN 1.6 billion to support young and new farmers and investments in infrastructure will start according to the Strategic Plan 2023-2027 by the end of the year. During a meeting of the Monitoring Committee, the Strategic Plan was adopted the indicative schedule to launch the the interventions. Support under them covers a variety of activities, including development of non-agricultural sectors such as handicrafts and services, modernization of irrigation infrastructure and agricultural activities.

“The planned admissions will help improve the economic viability of rural areas and address the serious challenges faced by farmers in recent years,” said the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food, Dr. Lozana Vasileva. She added that farmers are waiting for the reception of interventions from the Strategic Plan, because they will enable the opening of new and expansion and modernization of existing production activities.

Support will also be given to innovative projects in agriculture aimed at new technologies and production methods, as well as producer groups and organizations that aim for better market positioning and adaptation to market requirements. Admissions are also planned for carrying out and developing non-agricultural activities, as well as for supporting the improvement of municipal infrastructure.

In November, admissions are opened for the following interventions:

• “II.G.6 – Investments in basic services and small-scale infrastructure in rural areas” with a budget of EUR 500 million

• “II.D.1. – Start-up aid for the establishment of young farmers in agriculture” with a budget of EUR 90 million

• “II.D.2. “Supporting very small farms” with a budget of EUR 30 million

• “II.D.3. – Start-up aid for the establishment of new farmers in agriculture” with a budget of 20 million euros

• “II.Z.3 – Support of producers’ organizations or groups of producers” with a budget of 12.5 million euros

In December, the following interventions will be accepted:

• “II.G3 – Investments for non-agricultural activities in rural areas” with a budget of EUR 98 million

• “II.D.5 – Investments in irrigation infrastructure” with a budget of 100 million euros

• “II.Z.1. – Support for operational groups within the framework of the European Innovation Partnership” with a budget of 1 million euros.

During the meeting, a Methodology for determining guaranteed budgets for municipalities within the scope of the definition of rural areas, which will be applied to the intervention “Investments in basic services and small-scale infrastructure in rural areas”, was presented. This ensures access to funds in each municipal territory according to its needs. The evaluation criteria, according to which the project proposals will be ranked according to the various measures submitted by the candidates, were also voted on.
