Around 4,000 pallet locations are planned in the warehouse, which will ensure better storage of products and faster delivery at points of sale. The bread company has also invested 215,000 thousand euros, creating a new brand “Latvijas zeltene”, which will replace the bread series “Zeltene”. A new visual look has been created for the bread series and investments have been made in the modernization of the line Daugavpils factory.

The new series includes seven types of bread. Of the existing breads, “Latvijas zeltene” wholemeal rye bread, which was previously known as “Zeltene Rye bread”, has undergone the greatest changes. It is supplemented with the highest quality whole grain flour, which increases the nutritional value of bread. Additional expenses are covered by the company itself.

Maris Daude, a member of the company’s board, points out that with the change of the brand, it is important to emphasize that all products of this series are manufactured in Latvia – at the Daugavpils factory. As part of the rebranding, a new double-scald production technology for “Latvijas zeltenes” rye light bread has been developed, which increases the nutritional value and quality of bread.

In turn, the new “Latvijas zeltenes” light rye bread has become a unique product in Latvia. During its preparation, two scalds are formed – the classic malt scald and a new – from scratch – seen scald, the preparation period of which is at least 16 hours. The scalding not only improves the taste and aroma of the bread, but also makes the structure of the bread softer and significantly moisturized, reducing the drying process of the bread and extending the shelf life of the product. “Latvijas maiznieks” is the only one in Latvia that uses such double scalding technology.
