“The case of a fire that started on July 1 in a family home in the town of Kamenička, in which two people died, was taken over for further investigation by criminal investigators of the General Crime Department,” said Dana Čírtková, a speak for Vysočin police.
After the autopsy of the two victims, the police have a clearer idea. “The results of the autopsy clearly showed that the woman died a violent death. Criminal investigators are therefore investigating the case for suspicion of committing an extremely serious crime of murder and subsequent suicide,” said Čírtková.
The autopsy also clarified the identity of the two deceased. “It was a twenty-eight-year-old woman and a ten-year-old man who used the house for living. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation,” said the spokesperson.
Firefighters went to the village of Kamenička near the D1 highway on Monday, July 1, before 11 a.m. after receiving information about the fire through the emergency line. They deployed four units including a local volunteer group. Investigators also used a specially trained dog to detect fire accelerants.
