spokesperson confirmed Taliban In Afghanistan, Zabihullah Mujahid, investigations are underway in a case Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed.
He also added, in an exclusive interview with Al-Arabiya, that the movement was unable to reach Al-Zawahiri’s body, as there is no trace of it so far, and the Taliban were not aware of his presence in this place.
“This case has different dimensions, and there are investigations that are taking place, and when these investigations are completed, we will announce the result,” he added.
He also told Al-Arabiya that the missile that hit al-Zawahiri’s house destroyed everything, indicating that the area is very safe and is not usually inspected.
Mujahid described the operation carried out by America in violation of the “Doha Agreement”, indicating that it would have consequences.
Al-Zawahiri was killed in Kabul
It is noteworthy that US President Joe Biden announced, on August 2, that the United States had killed al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in Kabul.
Al-Zawahiri’s killing represents the biggest blow to al-Qaeda since US special forces killed Osama bin Laden in 2011, and raises doubts about the extent to which the Taliban has fulfilled its pledge not to harbor armed groups.
The operation is the first announced strike launched by the United States on a target in Afghanistan since Washington withdrew its forces from the country on August 31 last year, days after the Taliban returned to power.
Al-Zawahiri is also believed to have been the mastermind who directed al-Qaeda’s operations, including the September 11 attacks, and bin Laden’s personal physician.
