Investigation Unit recovers three bodies in San José de Apartadó

In the area of ​​San José de Apartadó, the Research Unit we recovered three bodies of missing persons in the context of the armed conflict. The Banana Axis Monitoring Plan lists nearly 5 thousand people who have been reported missing.

The work to recover the bodies was carried out in the towns of Miramar, La Linda and Buenos Aires in San José de Apartadó.

The forensic anthropologist, María Camila López Restrepo, gave details about the bodies found: “In the town of Miramar we managed to recover two bodies, in the town of La Linda we managed to recover a body and in the city of Buenos Aires we were able to carry. out of sight work.”

These works were carried out for 15 days and were supported by social leaders, presidents of Community Action Boards and the community of the area.

“Because they accompanied us through the whole process, they allowed us to support and enrich the humanitarian research and also provided us with the logistical requirements we needed for the intervention of these sites of forensic interest ”: Restrepo said.

The Research Plan for the Banana Axis, which includes the municipalities of Chigorodó, Carepa, Apartadó and Turbo, listing 4,600 people who were reported missing.
